Education

I was professionally trained as an Occupational Therapist at Brookes University in Oxford, England, and later earned a B.S and M.S at the University of Toronto.Art Training started as a child when I attended the Newfoundland Academy of Art, and continues in the form of workshops, evening part-time studies at OCAD, The Three Schools of Art, and weeklong residential plein air workshops.
While I am largely self-taught, I readily acknowledge the influence of instructors, including: Brian Smith, Susan Low-Beer, Margaret Ferraro, Ilse Hughes and Jean Claude Roy.

Interests

Portraiture and figurative work are strong interests, as well as en plein air landscape painting. My preferred media are soft pastel and oil paints, but I also enjoy watercolour painting and clay sculpture. I have completed several commissioned portraits.
